Update 14.7 lays the keel of a new ship at the Dockyard—you can add X Laffey to your fleet by building her! USS Laffey is a renowned *Allen M. Sumner*-class destroyer that made her mark in history during WWII, even partaking in the Normandy landings. X Laffey is most notable for surviving six kamikaze strikes and four bomb hits during the Battle of Okinawa.
In-game role
- Main battery–focused destroyer with strong concealment.
- Features: Improved Defensive AA Fire
, Template:Burst Fire mode, and an enhanced Specialized Repair Teams
. - Special time-based Smoke Generator
. - Downsides: Short-range torpedoes, short overall smoke time capacity, modest speed, and a small hit-point pool.
Construction Process
- Progress through 20 Dockyard phases.
- 18 phases can be completed via dedicated combat missions (including the Underwater Explosion enemy destruction effect).
- 2 phases must be purchased for 3,000 Doubloons each.
- Starter packs: 2-phase for 5,000 Doubloons and 6-phase for Doubloons 12,500 (available until you complete 4 phases via missions).
- Missions available throughout Update 14.7 and most of 14.8, ending 2 days before Update 14.9.

10th Anniversary: Grand Voyage

Update 14.7 marks the beginning of the massive Grand Voyage event! Celebrate the 10th Anniversary with a multi-update reward marathon featuring Doubloons, Steel, and the iconic destroyer IX GQ Johnny.
Event Overview
You can earn up to 32,000 Voyage Tokens, which are exchangeable for Doubloons or Steel at a 1:1 rate.
Core Activities

| Fight up to 5 battles daily to earn GQ Johnny Tokens. Reach 180 Tokens to obtain the ship for free. (If already owned, receive 10,000 Steel instead). |
Progress for the IX GQ Johnny is non-consecutive. The fastest acquisition time is 90 days by completing 5 battles per day. Please note: This event introduces the first wave of activities, with more content arriving in future updates.
Aircraft Carriers and Aviation Update
From spotting mechanics to survivability and secondaries—a squadron of changes for aircraft carriers and aviation lands in Update 14.7.
Balance and gameplay changes
- Detectability: Ships on fire now increase detectability by air by 2 km (instead of 3).
- Spotting: Airplane spotting range increased to 20 km.
- Shared Detectability: All aircraft (except jet planes) have a shared detectability range of 10 km.
- Base Air Detectability: Capped at 10 km for all ships.
- Firing Penalty: Ships no longer have increased detectability by air after firing main battery guns.
- Manual Secondaries: Aircraft carriers now have manual control for secondary batteries with adjusted performance parameters.
- Fire Mechanics: Carrier fires have longer durations but reduced damage per second. Damage Control Party cooldown and duration have been reduced.
- Torpedo Damage: Ships can now restore the same percentage of HP lost to aerial and submarine acoustic torpedoes, regardless of hit location.

Early Access to American Destroyers Continues
Early Access Ends: Sep 3, 2025, 02:00 AM PT
During Update 14.7, Early Access continues for the new line of American destroyers: VII Hughes, VIII Osborne, IX Christopher, and X Burrows.
How to obtain them
- Sequential Bundles: Exchange American Tokens to unlock these ships. X Burrows is available at the end for Doubloons.
- Bonus Items: Sequential bundles also contain permanent economic bonuses for IX Christopher and X Burrows, and themed permanent camouflages.
- Random Bundles: Available for Doubloons; they provide American Tokens and a chance to obtain X F. Sherman, VIII Tennessee, and 2x Blue Lagoon permanent camouflages.
Important Information
- With the release of Update 14.8, these ships will become researchable in the Tech Tree.
- Unused American Tokens will be converted into Credits at a rate of 1 Token : 15,000 Credits.
Armory
New Ship X Amiral Lartigue
Starting with Update 14.7, X Amiral Lartigue becomes available in the Armory for 31,000 Steel.
- History: A hypothetical French conversion of a captured German hybridized O-class battlecruiser.
- Playstyle: Focuses on high-accuracy, long-range main battery fire rather than aircraft.
- Features: French cruiser Engine Boost
, improved hangar deck plating, and a large HP pool. - Weaknesses: Lacks Hydroacoustic Search and has high detectability.
- Aviation: Squadron of skip bombers with single high-yield payload drops. Includes the Combat Air Patrol consumable for fighter protection.
Content Rarity System
- The new rarity system provides an intuitive understanding of the effort required to acquire items and their exclusivity.
- Grades: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary.
Implementation
- Added color coding and filters to the Armory to sort items by rarity.
- Implemented in Container Barge rewards for easier appraisal.
- Added to the Captain's Logbook with a new filter.

Update 14.7 brings three new Brawls in different formats.

Content Additions and Changes
Additions
- New Content: Obon Festival flag.
- Ships for Testing: Narai (Pan-Asian, Tier VIII), Bridgeport (U.S., Tier VIII), Indiana (U.S., Tier IX), and Ocean (British, Tier X).
- Containers: The Ninth Anniversary Gift container is getting a name change and refreshed contents starting in Update 14.8.
Other changes
- Fixed textures for IX Tashkent, IX GQ Johnny, VIII Salmon, X Thrasher, and X Delny.
- Fixed a bug that incorrectly set VIII Vittorio Veneto 's gun-mount armor plating; now correctly set to 50 mm.
- Added default permanent camouflages for IX BA Takahashi and VIII BA Tirpitz.
- Fixed a bug that caused aircraft carrier bots to not use their secondary battery guns against enemies in proximity.
- Fixed a bug that caused VIII Osborne to have no permanent camouflage set as default.
