Kagerō — Japan Tech Tree Tier VIII Destroyer.

Japan avoided the limitations on ship tonnage by declining to sign the Second London Naval Treaty. As a result, new criteria were formulated for "cruiser-type" destroyers, emphasizing enhanced stability and sea endurance while maintaining the armament of "special type" destroyers. Laid down in September 1937, Kagerō played a role in World War II, engaging in combat near the eastern Solomon Islands and Santa Cruz Islands and participating in the Battles of Guadalcanal and Tassafaronga.

    • If a player had purchased Tier IX Kagero, then all upgrades, signals, flags, equipment were demounted and placed in the inventory, Tier IX Kagero was removed, Tier VIII Kagero with a slot was added, Tier IX Yugumo was added.
    • If a player had Commanders with specialization in Tier IX Kagero before the update, then the Commanders were retrained for specialization in Tier IX Yugumo. In addition, a Commander with 35,000 Commander XP and specialization in Tier VIII Kagero plus a slot in the Reserve was added to the player's account.
    • If a player had purchased the permanent camouflage for Tier IX Kagero before the update went live, this camouflage was removed from the player's account; permanent camouflages for Tier IX Yugumo and Tier VIII Kagero were added to the player's account as replacements.

  • The national flag was moved from the stern to the mast.
