Annapolis — U.S.A. Tech Tree Tier 11 Cruiser.

The project is a theoretical advancement of heavy cruisers akin to the Des Moines class, incorporating a fourth main battery turret. As a result, the total number of 203 mm guns equipped with automatic loaders grew to twelve. The anti-aircraft armament was significantly enhanced, specifically by replacing all 20 mm and 40 mm guns with 76 mm automatic twin guns. The 38-caliber 127 mm guns were substituted with long-barrel 54-caliber guns.

Pros

  • Incredible main battery firepower: 12 rapidly reloading 203mm guns, AP with improved angles before autobounce and heavier shells with increased penetration, very high DPM for a heavy cruiser
  • Excellent consumable suite: Versatile utility, like the other high-tier US heavy cruisers
  • Access to Alternative Main Battery Firing Mode: Allows for firing of multiple damaging salvoes in rapid succession

Cons

  • Lower main battery shell velocity: The heavier shells have higher arcs, and her range is limited
  • Limited Survivability: Small HP pool and vulnerable to HE damage and overmatch
  • Unfamiliar layout and ergonomics: Large size and evenly distributed firepower, a bit like Buffalo
