"In the Name of Tomorrow" Continues

Event
Ends: Sep 17, 2025, 02:00 AM PT

The event continues with rotating Operations and a narrative campaign—progress further to claim VIII San Diego and more rewards!

Event Overview

Available during the first 2 weeks of Update 14.8, this event features historically inspired Operations and a narrative campaign following U.S. Navy officer Robert Adams from the beginning to the end of the conflict.

Operations Rotation

  • Available Operations: Arctic Convoy, Tokyo Express, and Pacific Offensive.
  • Conditions: Rotates randomly. Players can participate using Tier VII–IX ships from 10 nations.
  • Objectives: Each Operation includes regular and random secondary tasks (e.g., maintaining stealth in darkness, destroying capital ships under time limits, or reaching target locations). Earning Stars through these tasks progresses you through the campaign.

Campaign Rewards

  • Final Reward: Completing all campaign stages awards VIII San Diego.
  • Note: If you are just starting the event, your journey begins with the "Arctic Convoy" Operation.

For a detailed breakdown of the narrative stages and specific Operation objectives, please refer to the dedicated event Article.

Module Damage Rework

Modules will no longer be permanently destroyed—Update 14.8 brings a new critical damage state, changes to HP values, and smoother reload mechanics.

New Module States:

Starting with Update 14.8, the module damage system is being reworked to improve gameplay comfort and consistency. Modules will no longer be permanently destroyed; instead, they feature two states:

  • Damaged: Functions as before. The module repairs automatically after a set duration, or can be restored immediately using the Damage Control Party.
  • Critically Damaged: A new status that cannot be repaired manually. It expires after a fixed duration, after which the module automatically recovers a portion of its HP.

Key Mechanical Changes:

  • Reload Mechanics: When main battery guns or torpedo launchers are damaged or critically damaged, their reload will now pause instead of resetting completely.
  • Module HP Consistency: Randomization has been removed from module HP values. Modules (such as Sonar, torpedo tubes, secondary batteries, and AA mounts) now have fixed HP values, making critical hits more predictable.
  • Status Visibility: Players can press the H key at any time to view all current module statuses.

These changes are designed to eliminate scenarios where a ship becomes incapable of fighting due to multiple lost modules, while still rewarding players who focus on targeting specific enemy components.

Submarines in Operations

Submarines are now deployable in Operations, with boosted speed, improved maneuverability, and additional buffs.

Gameplay Changes

Starting in Update 14.8, you can take your submarines into Operations. To ensure balance, the player team is limited to one submarine, and enemy bot teams will not include them.

Key Adjustments

  • Performance Boosts: Submarines will feature increased speed and maneuverability (parameters vary by ship).
  • New Consumable: Access to the **Call Patrol Bomber** consumable, specifically designed to help deal damage to structures.
  • Torpedo Shotgunning: The 3 km submarine torpedo damage penalty is removed for the majority of submarines, effectively enabling shotgunning tactics.

These changes provide a more dynamic experience for submarine captains, allowing them to better engage the diverse objectives found within Operations.
