Update 15.6: Battle Pass & Summer Festival

Update 15.6 delivers the following:

Battle Pass

Starts: Jul 16, 03:00 AM (UTC+8)
Ends: Aug 13, 03:00 AM (UTC+8)

The key feature of Update 15.6 is a trial of a new "Battle Pass" that temporarily replaces the standard Event Pass for the duration of the update. Instead of unlocking individual rewards by following a linear progression, captains can navigate a strategic map with three areas, further broken down into individual sectors, and choose their own progression path by selecting whatever rewards they most desire.

Players start from the same sector, and earn "Battle Pass Points" through ingame Base EXP missions or occasionally as bonus rewards for claiming sectors on the map. The strategic map features three areas, further broken down into individual sectors and unlock weekly:

  • Area 1: The first and starting area will be available immediately with the release of Update 15.6, and can be upgraded for Doubloons 2000 Doubloons
  • Area 2: The second area unlocks with the start of the second week of Update 15.6, and can be upgraded for Doubloons 750 Doubloons
  • Area 3: The third area unlocks with the start of the third week of Update 15.6, and can be upgraded for Doubloons 750 Doubloons

The map is interactive, featuring "On-Map Actions" - Certain sectors, for example, can be claimed to increase the reward in others, or serve as pre-requisites for another sector to be claimed.

Reward Highlights

Rewards for this Battle Pass exceed the value of rewards available in typical Event Passes, though the total cost of unlocking all rewards is also higher.

The free rewards available include 12 different decals, 3x "Decals Premium Containers", the new Turquoise Explosion enemy destruction effect, 1x Captain's Holdall Premium Container, and the Summer permanent camouflage

Among the rewards available for doubloons are the Spanish Tier VI Premium Cruiser Canarias, her "Atlantic" permanent camouflage, five more different decals, 1x “Boom!” enemy destruction effect, 1x "Purple Explosion" enemy destruction effect, 2x "Pin-Up Summer" permanent camouflages and the "Celestial Dragon" permanent camouflage for VIII Cataluña

Do note Doubloon Rewards are split between the 3 areas. Extra rewards can be earned in specific sectors in the second and third areas.

Unique Commander Talents Changes

Update 15.6 brings major changes to the Unique Commanders system in World of Warships, aimed to increase the usefulness of Commander Talents across different battle types and make the activation of said talents more consistent and balanced across different commanders:

  • Achievements are no longer required for talent activation, allowing talents to function across a wider range of battle types.
  • Simplified activation conditions with introduced staged triggers. Some talents now grow in power as you reach additional milestones.
  • Adding separate activation conditions and bonuses based on battle type, so that talents will be equally achievable and beneficial in most of them.
    • It will also allow for tuning of these settings for particular battle types in future balancing changes as required.

In light of these changes, a 100% discount on resetting Commander Skills is available during the first 2 weeks of Update 15.6. You'll be able to reset your Commanders' skills either all at once (via a button on the World of Warships website) or for individual Commanders.

A dedicated article on special commanders has been updated to explain these changes in more detail.

Other changes

  • Fixed a bug with the X Harugumo, X Minotaur, and X Yueyang unique upgrades that caused part of the bonuses they provide to Smoke Generator not to work properly in battle, even though it was described correctly in the UI.
  • Fixed a bug which sometimes caused torpedoes to do full damage in Brawl sessions that had a modifier reducing torpedo damage for all ships.
  • Fixed a bug with the recommended Commander skills for aircraft carriers.
  • Added new entities in the Inventory, as well as rarity support, more detailed tooltips, and other UI improvements.
  • Fixed a UI bug that caused long-duration consumables to have an incorrect number of remaining charges if you activated the consumable, disconnected, then reconnected while the consumable was still active.
  • Fixed a visual bug with time-based consumables that, if you halted a consumable's action with ~1 second of charge left, it would display the wrong value in the UI.
  • Bots in Asymmetric Battles are slightly stronger on all tiers.
