Myōgi — Japan Tech Tree Tier IV Battleship.
The construction of powerful and fast battlecruisers in Great Britain prompted Japan to start designing ships of this class. One of the Japanese battlecruiser projects was armed with 356 mm guns in three twin-gun turrets, two of which occupied her stern, as well as sixteen 152 mm guns mounted in casemates.
Pros
- High mobility: 28.0 knot top speed, with decent rudder handling
- Accurate and long-ranged heavy guns: large guns for her tier, with high sigma, heavy and damaging shells, and long range
- Turret layout: 2 superfiring turrets aft and fairly good firing angles, she is capable of making a fast getaway from a chasing enemy while using all her firepower
Cons
- Relatively thin armour: Her main belt of only 203mm thickness renders her vulnerable to large-calibre enemy AP, despite her distributed armour scheme
- Limited damage output: Only 6 guns, resulting in low AP DPM for the tier. Place your shots wisely
- Poor concealment: Her default detectability by sea is 16.1km. You are not hiding your vessel’s pagoda mast
