== Summary ==
"Saving Transylvania" is a PVE [[Ship:Scenarios|Scenario]] that debuted during Halloween 2016, and reran each year up until 2022. Through 2019-2021, two additional difficulties were added for the operation: Hard and Super Hard.

In Saving Transylvania, the friendly fleet escort the ''Transylvania'' through hordes of undead Zikasas, fireball-slinging catapults, and ultimately facing the monstrous ''Rasputin''.

Players can take one of three special ships into the Operation: ''Igor'', Blade, or Jackal. These ships are equipped with special armaments and consumables, such as guns with a base 35% fire chance on ''Igor'', or a special repair party found on all three ships.
== Overview ==
The King's flagship Transylvania was pulled into the portal by a mysterious force, and disappeared. Without a doubt, the Transylvania’s escorts follow suit. Beyond the portal is an unknown realm, a realm of darkness. Infront of the ships, the Transylvania floats unharmed, and in the distance, the portal looms. The captains decide to tow the Transylvania back to the portal, but as they sail, catapults start firing, and monstrous ships appear. Only by destroying them all will the Transylvania and her crew be able to make it safely back to their own realm.

== Walkthrough ==
[[Ship:Terror of the Deep]]
At the start of the operation, players spawn at the west-end of the map, behind the Transylvania, which is stationary. As soon as an allied ship enters the circle, the Transylvania will start moving forward.

During the early-mid-stage of the game, the Transylvania will sail either south or north of the island at E4. Gameplay does not change much regardless of the route, but players will need to change and plan their routes accordingly to keep sailing alongside the Transylvania. During the same time, Zikasas will spawn from the rear, around where the players start.

During the mid-late-game stage of the operation, many more Zikasas will spawn closer to the Transylvania. As the Transylvania moves closer to the portal, the Rasputin will spawn infront of it, along with two Zikasas on it’s port and starboard side. When Rasputin sails closer, it may turn to move north or south of the Transylvania, and may sometimes even sail into the circle if it is not destroyed in time.

The Transylvania will keep sailing towards the portal as long as there are allies inside the circle. When Transylvania reaches the portal, the game ends regardless of whether all enemy ships, including Rasputin, are sunk.

Each playable ship has it’s own role and niche it needs to fill during the battle. The main objective of Blade is to sail around and torpedo the enemy ships, and to lay smokescreens for the Transylvania during the late game. Igor’s role is to primarily use its powerful HE with a 35% fire chance to set fires on as many enemy ships as possible. The Jackals role is to be the main tanking force defending the Transylvania, and to focus and eliminate the catapults as quickly as possible.

== Tips ==

* Most allied ships should stay in front of, or to the side of the Transylvania, as defending it is the main objective.
=== Work in Progress: ===
* The speed of the Transylvania varies depending on how many ships are inside the escort circle. It is recommended to have no more than three ships within the circle, as more ships means that the friendly battleships will have trouble catching up, and additionally the Transylvania will be sailing into danger faster.
* In the middle-to-late stages of the operation, Zikasas will appear from the rear of the convoy. They can safely be ignored as they are unable to catch up (as long as the Transylvania does not stop).
* The catapults take full damage from AP, so using that shell type is recommended.
* In later stages of the game, coordinating and laying smokes for Transylvania along the escort path can protect her from enemy fire.
* While ramming enemy ships does not deal much damage, in some situations, ramming the Rasputin in the late stages of the game can prevent it from sailing into the Transylvanias circle.
* While playing Jackal, shooting at the “mouth” on the bow of the Zikasas can yield citadel hits.
* The main guns on Zikasas do not work, only the secondaries do, and they have a range of 3 km. Attempt to destroy the Zikasa before it reaches secondary range.

* The playable ships, Blade, Igor and Jackal are based on the tech tree ships Wakatake, St. Louis and Nassau, while the enemy Zikasas and Rasputin are based on Mikasa and Imperator Nikolai I respectively.

* In 2016, the Halloween event ships were displayed as tier XI.

* During the 20XX rerun of Saving Transylvania, the skybox was changed, and thus the lighting of the map was altered drastically.

* In 2017, the halloween event portal was added to Sea of Fortune as a temporary easter egg. It was located on the southeast side of the map, outside of the map border.
