IX
Special

Niord — European premium Tier IX battleship.

A fast battleship with a similar layout to World War I-era German battlecruiser designs. Had history taken a different course, she might have been laid down in Germany by 1918, bought by Sweden in the 1920s, and gradually completed by the end of the 1930s. The battleship's artillery armament is supplemented by four quintuple-tube torpedo launchers.

Niord was first released for sale on 27 November 2024, as the reward for completing all 20 stages of the Hamburg Dockyard.

Player Opinion

Performance

Pros:

  • Large number of torpedoes, two quintuple launchers on each side
  • Main battery has a quick reload of 18.5 seconds when fully upgraded.
  • 380mm Guns with flat trajectory and good accuracy
  • Torpedoes are similar to those found on Tier X Halland
  • Strong Anti-Air Suite, capable of inflicting heavy losses to enemy aircraft

Cons:

  • One of the lowest HP pools of Tier IX battleships
  • Torpedo tubes are exposed and prone to incapacitations and destruction
  • Main battery of 380mm can struggle with armor and has no overmatch capability
  • Unlike similar ships of this design and class, Niord's secondary battery is very poor.
  • Niord's armor scheme is generally poor, with a 220mm main belt that struggles against AP of this tier.
