Wisconsin — American special premium Tier X battleship.

Wisconsin, an Iowa-class fast battleship, was among the final battleships to be commissioned worldwide. She contributed to the closing stages of the Pacific campaign by escorting aircraft carriers and shelling coastal fortifications occupied by Japanese forces. Beyond World War II, Wisconsin actively engaged in conflicts in Korea and the Persian Gulf. After colliding with a destroyer in 1956, she underwent restoration, receiving a new bow section from her unfinished sister ship, USS Kentucky. Since 2001, Wisconsin has been a museum ship permanently berthed in Norfolk.

Wisconsin was first released on 10 April 2024, as the reward for completing all 30 stages of the Naval Base Dockyard.

Combat Capability - Immediate Systems Reload

Wisconsin is equipped with the Immediate Systems Reload combat instruction, which reduces both her consumable reload and main battery reload for a short period of time. It can be activated after repeatedly hitting enemy ships with main battery shells.

Requirements:

Can only be used after hitting enemy ships with main battery shells.
Progress per main battery shell hit: 6%

Effects:

  • Consumable reload time: -80%
  • Main battery reload time: -50%
  • Action time: 20 seconds

Summary

Branching out from the “jack of all trades” reputation of most Tier 10 US battleships, Wisconsin is an Iowa-class battleship featuring excellent concealment, accurate artillery, modest armor, and high speed. Wisconsin has access to the Combat Instructions “F key” consumable, giving buffs to the main battery reload and consumable reload time.

Armor

Like her Tier IX sisters, Wisconsin is built for speed, rather than the heavier armament and armor found on Montana or Vermont. She is only marginally better protected than Iowa, featuring Missouri’s slightly improved armor scheme and 38mm side plating. This leaves her side much more vulnerable to fire from cruisers and battleships compared to Montana. The rest of Wisconsin’s armor layout is average for the tier, with 32mm bow and stern plating, 38mm deck armor, and the standard 19mm superstructure. Armor wise, Wisconsin will feel identical to playing Missouri a tier higher, without the ability to see Tier VII ships.

Armament

Wisconsin’s distinguishing feature is her deadly main battery. Like her siblings at Tier IX, she is armed with nine 406mm guns in a 3x3 turret layout. When upgraded with Artillery Plotting Room Modification 1 Extends the firing range of the main battery and secondary battery: +16% main battery firing range. / +5% secondary battery firing range. / -5% secondary battery dispersion. she has an impressive range of 27.1km, which can be further improved with her Spotting AircraftWhile active, a spotter plane circles the ship enhancing main battery firing range.. Wisconsin has a 180 degree rotation time of 45 seconds, which is average for Tier X. Like many Tier X battleships, her reload is 30 seconds, which can be temporarily improved with her Combat Instructions or permanently improved at the cost of turret rotation by using Main Battery Modification 3 : -12% main battery loading time. / -13% main battery traverse speed.. However, Main Battery Modification 3 is not recommended since Tier IX through XI US battleships can mount Artillery Plotting Room Modification 2 : -11% main battery dispersion. to increase their main battery accuracy. Wisconsin’s battlecruiser dispersion further sets her apart from most battleships, giving her some of the best dispersion among Tier X battleships . Along with this improved dispersion, Wisconsin has a high sigma of 2.0, making her main battery considerably more accurate than conventional battleships and leading to a tighter grouping of shells in a salvo.

Anti-Aircraft

Wisconsin has pretty standard AA defenses for the tier. Her maximum range is 5.8km, but the bulk of her defenses come from her medium-range and short-range batteries. She has a powerful 8 flak salvo with each explosion dealing 1764 damage. Her long-range mounts deal 168 damage per second, which is about the middle of the pack for Tier X battleships. Wisconsin’s main aircraft deterrent is her medium-range AA battery, dealing 511 damage per second up to a range of 3.5km. Her short-range AA defenses have a range of 2km, and deals 340 damage. However, Wisconsin also gets access to Defensive AA FireWhile active, the damage per second of large caliber anti-aircraft guns is increased. in its own slot, which increases her continuous AA defense damage by 50% and flak explosion damage by 300% for 40 seconds. While the cooldown is 80 seconds, the Combat Instructions can reduce this by 80% when activated. If players wish to further bolster their AA capabilities, her Spotting AircraftWhile active, a spotter plane circles the ship enhancing main battery firing range. can be traded for a Catapult FighterWhile active, a group of fighter planes circles the ship providing protection by attacking incoming enemy aircraft.. Wisconsin should not aim to fight against aircraft alone, but she is capable of fending off enemy aircraft for extended periods of time with calculated consumable usage.

Battle Performance

Wisconsin is clearly designed to be a long-range battleship, with her low HP of 81,100 and modest armor scheme making it difficult to survive in close range engagements. Her long firing range and accurate main battery make up for these downsides, and players should not have a difficult time landing shells on target from medium to long range. To further improve her combat effectiveness, Wisconsin’s Combat Instructions halve the main battery reload time and grant an 80% reduction in the reload time of consumables, greatly increasing her survivability in high intensity engagements. Wisconsin should position on flanks to exploit enemy broadsides. Using her above average 32.5kn speed and 12.9km concealment, players should have no problem getting into and out of engagements, or repositioning to better effect the match.

Pros:

  • Accurate main battery
  • High top speed
  • Low concealment

Cons:

  • Low HP
  • Light armor
  • Slow turret traverse
