Performance

Bajie is a Tier IX Pan-Asian premium battleship in World of Warships, and enjoys being the first battleship to enter the game under the Pan-Asian banner.
Bajie's main armament consists of nine high velocity 410mm guns, featuring good penetration, the typical Japanese battleship dispersion pattern which enjoys an advantage over that of other battleships at long range and long range. Over her sister Izumo she can boast a slightly improved shell grouping and slightly longer range, in exchange for a slower reload and worse turret traverse. However, just like with Izumo, the awkward turret arrangement will feel uncomfortable when trying to get all three turrets on target.
The survivability of Bajie is identical to that of her sister. A reasonably thick armor belt, a turtleback for additional protection and the 57mm main deck are strengths of her when encountering shellfire. At the same time however, large 32mm sections around her bow and her general size leave her vulnerable to sustained HE fire, making light cruisers particularly dangerous. Fair warning, she is exceptionally flammable even with the appropriate captain's skills equipped.
Being very similar to Izumo, she shares the general playstyle of her sister. Using AP to punish enemy broadsides, in particular those of battleships, while being mobile to avoid getting locked into a position. The biggest threat to Bajie are aircraft, as she lacks the AA fire or maneuverability to mitigate damage coming from above. Destroyers also pose a serious threat to her, as Bajie will struggle to dodge torpedoes with her slugglish maneuverability while also lacking a powerful secondary armament like Friedrich der Große carries.
Pros:
- Improved range and precision compared to Izumo
- Thick armor belt and turtleback with respectable thickness around her magazines, making citadel hits difficult
- Comfortable ballistics and hard hitting AP shells
Cons:
- Poor maneuverability, making torpedoes a serious threat
- Slower gun reload and turret rotation compared to Izumo.
- Poor AA defenses
- At close range the high velocity can be a burden, resulting in a lot of overpenetrations on thinly armored targets.
